Today, I was driving to work when a state trooper rammed into my car from behind, because he was on the cell phone and not paying attention. He gave me a ticket for "Failure to control speed to avoid a crash." FML

Did the Watch Commander come out to investigate? Get a Good Lawyer, and subpoena ASAP the dashboard cam, radio transmission records, and cell phone records. That trooper should go to JAIL for perjury, for signing a knowingly false complaint.

You should go to jail for pretending you know the law. you really think they are going to allow you to subpoena all these records for a WOMAN DRIVER?? Hell no....

Actually polarbare, its easier for women. Short skirt + Low cut shirt = whatever the hell records they want. Didn't you watch Erin Brockovich ?

In Erin Brockovich, she lost a civil case for being a woman driver. She was also fired briefly because people assumed she was incompetent, mostly because of the way she dressed. Stereotypes work against people all the time, unfortunately.

I had a similar situation like this one. A cop crashed into me on my motorcycle, and tried to give me a ticket to make it seem like it was my fault. Instead of just taking the ticket and walking away, I made a scene, and eventally got his supervisor to come to come down. The ticket was torn up by the supervisor. Now a days, cops think they can do whatever they want without consequences. Just go to court, and sue his ass!!!!!!!

this doesn't surprise me in the slightest because about 95% of cops are abusive, powertripping scumbag assholes

Take it to court. Because it was his fault, he may not even show and since you have the right to face your accuser, you'd automatically get off. You'd stand a good chance to win the protest even without a lawyer.

lmao #63...it's bad enough when people talk like that so I'm glad you made fun of her for typing like that. As far as this FML goes I had a similar experience. I wrecked my car by hitting some gravel on a turn and driving into a ditch and I also got the "failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident" ticket. FOR DAMAGING MY OWN PROPERTY AND NOBODY ELSE'S. So I feel you pain but at least yours is contestable whereas mine was my word against his.

I don't see why he would be driving between your bedroom and kitchen when he hit you. For that matter, why were you? It's much easier to walk.
