I'm sorry, but that is quite possibly the most naive statement I've ever read. I just saw a story in the news (with video evidence) of a cop who rear ended a woman and tried to make it seem like she was a drunk driver and it was her fault so he wouldn't have to deal with paperwork and inquiries and stuff like that. There are cops like this out there. It sucks, but it's true. OP, take it to court. Any half-decent judge will throw the ticket out.

Wow, exactly what AndelleRae said, how naive can you be? Our cops do shit like that all the time because they can get away with it. Just because you don't do it doesn't mean your peers don't. Talking on phones, texting, putting on their sirens and lights to run a red light and then turning them off immediately. Yeah, it happens.
