There are some Japanese people who tend to use the 'L' sound but most use 'R'. The Japanese language actually does not have an 'L' in it; any foreign words using it have it changed to 'R', since the proper pronunciation is somewhere between the two. So "Link" is written and often pronounced "Rink", but you may run into the occasional person who does it the other way around.
