Today, I was on my couch when my landlord walked in. He asked what I was doing there. I responded with the same question. Apparently my roommate forgot to call me and tell me that our lease ended three days ago. I am now standing in the parking lot with all my belongings, and it is raining. FML

That's how the FMLs are written.... doesn't mean that he is currently sitting outside in the rain right now. He is probably describing the situation when it happened. THINK!

Didn't you notice your roommate had moved out with all his stuff three days ago? And why is your landlord so uncompromising? He just made you move all your stuff out? Is your place in terrible condition or something? This is definitely a YDI.

How do you not know the date that your lease ends? If your name was on the lease, you should have known when it ended. YDI

Yeah sorry but you totally deserved this. It isn't your roommate's responsibility to tell you these things. You should be aware of when your lease is up if you're going to be renting an apartment. And really, wouldn't you notice that all of your roommate's stuff was gone? Just saying. It sucks that you got stuck in the rain, but you should have known when the lease to the apartment you're renting is up.

i think his choice of roommate was actually pretty good. he knew when the lease was up and was responsible enough to move out when it was up. the op should know when his lease ends.

You deserve it. If you have a room mate, wouldn't you notice that he's not there anymore and his things aren't there? And if it's raining, how are you posting this? If I were in your position, I wouldn't be posting FML's, I'd be looking for a place to stay.

I think this person is okay now considering they were able to get online, which is good. I'm glad their stuff isn't ruined and they've found a place to live. hopefully

Wow, marz. That's some serious paranoia you have going on there if your first instinct is to bash the person if you think they even hinted at the word 'first'. You should get that checked out. :|
