Today, I was putting my 2 year old to bed, and I began to sing to her. She reached up, put her finger over my lips, and said, "Shhh, Mommy." FML

awww haha that's actually kinda cute really

I'm sure it's not a commentary on your singing. I'm a fairly decent singer, and my son's done that to me before!

They're young. Don't take it personally, they were just honest that they needed quiet. Give them a hug, kiss and see if they want a story or to be left to drift off to sleep. How would you feel if every time you began to drift to sleep someone began to sing, jolting you back into consciousness? It's all good, just work with them :)

I totally agree! my son for example, likes to be left alone and he falls asleep on his own. Like the comment above says, "you just have to work with them" :)

She was probably incredibly tired and wanted some peace and quiet.

YDI for being a mom. lol, this is ridiculous. but at least she has the ability to process thoughts and share them with you. she's adorable. I hoped you smiled!

I always thought singing babies to sleep was awkward too... Never sang to my son and he goes to sleep like a pro :)
