Today, I was rejected from the University of Washington. My dad has been a professor there for 30 years, and is on the board of admissions. FML

Just because your dad works there and is on the committee doesn't mean you'll automatically get in. It makes me sick when that happens. You should earn your way in, not get in because of favoritism.

Don't assume that just because daddy works there that that means you are guaranteed a place - you still have to work for it. People like you are annoying for doing that - 'your' place has probably gone to someone who did work for it, really wanted it and didn't just apply there because of daddy
