Today, I was sick on an airplane. As we were taking off, I felt like I was ready to hurl. I was sitting in the window seat and was unable to get up in time to go to the bathroom so I was forced to grab the nearest container to puke in. It was a glass of juice belonging to the woman next to me. FML

Just for future reference... most airlines put barf bags in all the seat pockets.

One thing I don't get: How the hell does that woman drink her glass of juice just as the plane is taking off? She must have insane hand-eye coordination to account for the turbulence.

Actually my boyfriend got sick on a plane too and there weren't any barf bags in his, mine or the people across the aisles seat back pocket. This was on a major airline too. Sucks man, but I'm sure she's glad it wasn't all over her or you! I'd sacrifice my juice to not get puked on.

This is more of an FML for her. xD You'll both get over it. At least you didn't puke on her.

this isn't just a big deal..it's not even that funny or that bad..

Not seeing the FYL in this.. I guess YDI since if you knew you were sick you should get out the barf bag in case.

Dude, airlines provide barf bags for a reason. How could you just have vomited into someone else's glass of juice? Totally lame. How does this even qualify as as FML?

Some airlines don't have barf bags anymore. You can ask for them, but since people generally don't get ill as often as they used to. Also the air hostesses should have taken the glasses away before take-off. But at least you didn't throw up on the woman next to you, or in her bag of newly bought duty-free items. It's not that bad. I was sick on myself on a bus once, which ended up making my 5 hour bus/train journey take 10 hours.

Generally you don't even get glasses of anything before take-off, so I'm not sure how she had a glass of juice and the tray down (not in it's upright position). And, as many others mentioned, some may not have barf bags anymore, but most do. Also, if you are sick and you are getting on a plane, wouldn't you think to have something of your own nearby anyways?

I think she was glad it went into her glass and not over her

Come to think of it, on the recent flights I'd been on (three last year), we hadn't been served drinks until after take-off. (and #11, holding onto a glass while takeoff doesn't require any skill whatsoever.) Hmm.... bullshit?
