Today, I was walking through town when I saw a plastic bag on the ground. Trying to be a good citizen, I picked it up, intending on throwing it in the trash. When I looked up, there wasn't a trash can for another hundred feet. So I put it back down. Now I've got a $200 fine to pay for littering. FML

So walk the extra hundred feet. How is that a big deal?

a plastic bag doesn't weigh anything and it wouldn't have taken any extra effort to walk the 100 ft. your laziness disgusts me. you completely deserved it.

wow...you are so lazy you can't even a walk of 100 feet to throw out a weightless piece of trash? yeah you're such an AMAZING citizen.

YDI you're a lazy shit that can't walk 100 ft.

All these folks yakking on about how you deserved it when they most likely wouldn't have even considered picking it up themselves is real rich.

#87, how does touching it make it his property? I can't think of a single situation where that logic is applicable. Also, even if you think he's lazy, I still don't see how that makes him deserving of having to pay $200.

If you were really trying to be a good citizen, you would have walked an extra 15 seconds to the trash can. And yes, he deserves this. He was just as lazy as the original person who couldn't walk the extra 100 feet. He littered just like the original owner of the bag. Also, he clearly wasn't in a hurry for anything since it was just 'walk through town'. If he had anywhere in particular to go, he would surely have taken a car of a bus. If the trash can wasn't in the direction he was going, then there had to be one somewhere in the direction he was going in. Anybody who put FYL is must also be a lazyass who has done something similar and was just mad that they had to pay for their actions. #4-He looks like a much bigger idiot to just throw it back on the ground. #16-He didn't try. Trying would be like picking it up, looking for the trash can, and actually walking over there. Anyways, YDI 150%. A good lesson for following through with your actions. :P

YDI. I log onto a website devoted to misfortune after having two uncles die of cancer in four months, a diagnosis of PTSD after seeing kids get blown up in afghanistan, and 18 month stop loss, to read about a lazy prick who won't walk to a trashcan. FML

Like they always say, a good deed never goes unpunished.

"Trying to be a good citizen" & "there wasn't a trash can for another hundred feet" - you tool. Couldn't make the 30m carrying a piece of rubbish? You shouldn't be out in society unsupervised.
