Today, I was watching a movie at my girlfriend's house with her and her parents. There was a part where a brother and sister kissed, so I said "where'd they come from, Alabama?" Today is also the day I found out my girlfriend's parents are from Alabama. FML

Today, I was watching a movie with my sister, my roommate, and my girlfriend. Halfway through the movie, my girlfriend left the room and texted me that she was breaking up with me. She then came back in the room, sat on my bed, and enjoyed the rest of the movie with us. FML

i'm from Mississippi and have spent alot of time in Alabama most of the people there or mostly strict church going people who frown on such things Arkansas, Kansas, and Georgia or the ones you or thinking of the south isn't as bad as people think there have been extreme changes in the way things work in the last 40years its nothing like the stereotypical environment portrayed and most of the stereotypical "rednecks" are from the southwest i've noticed alot of them from Ohio, new-mexico, and western Texas people down here mostly want to get out from under the veil thats been thrown over us from 50-60years ago
