Today, I was woken up by the massive earthquake in Samoa. I went downstairs to discover that all the hotel staff had fled and abandoned the hotel guests. I was left to run up to higher ground on foot. It was a three hour hike. By the time I got to a safe spot, the tsunami warning was lifted. FML

Either this is fake or your are stupid. Tsunamis can hit pretty late, but this one came quite fast to Samoa, the safe spot is surely not three hours away from wherever you are. And if it's not fake, you are stupid to complain because you are alive and still have all your stuff because the hotel was apparently not flooded.. Lots of people lost their home and everything they had. And many people died.

uhm, actually, they shouldn't. The first thing you learn when you work in a hotel is: SAFE YOURSELF FIRST. They wouldn't want you risking your own life to safe the guests, that's not your job.

Oh no! FYL because you survived an earthquake. It could have been a lot worse. Yes the hotel staff abandoned you (although maybe they put out an alarm and you missed it, I don't know), but things could have been a lot worse. So sorry, this is really not an FML in my opinion.

I don't think YLS nor YDI is appropiate here... I mean, you should be really glad there wasn't a tsunami. But now you're whining about hiking for 3 hours. Man. You should be thankfull having all your stuff and family.
