You are a liar. If you had to hike three hours to reach a safe zone out of the tsunami's path you would have been hit by it. The tsunami hit five minutes after the quake ended.

so, you're upset you had to hike 3 hours to survive (which you apparently did successfully)? wow, you have it so ******* hard, don't you? i mean, so many people lost lives, children lost parents, friends lost friends, etc., but you have it so tough cos you hiked 3 hours and lived!!! if you actually are in samoa, take a good look around and look at the people mourning losses and the destruction!!!! be thankful you're alive and stop bitching!!!!!

Dear Rich Western Snob in Samoa, If you consider that hard work, maybe you shouldn't have been over there exploiting the locals in the first place. You know, the ones who died first because they didn't have the resources or necessesities to survive without relying on your filthy money?

Some of these comments make me sick. Do you realize that there WAS a tsunami on Tuesday that took many lives? Get real with your "fat people float" BS. Open your eyes to someone else's life other than your own. On the other hand - I don't think this is a FML. You're lucky to be someone who survived through everything. Big deal, a 3 mile hike? Good exercise & you're alive.

I guess it's hard to tell unless you've been there. At least you're alive, that's a good thing
