Today, I was working as a cashier at a restaurant. When I receive $50 and $100 bills I am required to have a manager check to make sure they are not counterfeit. Every manager I found yelled at me to find another manager because they were busy. Frustrated, I just accepted the bill. It was fake. FML

That is your managers' faults for not paying attention to you. I hope you didn't get in trouble because of them.

I bet the person that gave you the money was pretty nervous too, in hopes that they wouldn't get caught. FYL.

And of course this idiot has to be from Maryland. It's really not hard to tell the difference between fake money and legit money.

The managers should do their job. They have the presitge and the pay, so they should do their work.

Your managers are stupid, OP. If your job's SOP says that it's management's responsibility to make sure any and all $50 and $100 bills are authentic, and they refuse to do THEIR job, then you shouldn't be held accountable it.

Well, you technically had every right to refuse it then. On the bright side, you can use your bosses' impudence to your advantage if you get written up. Also, why the hell doesn't your restaurant have one of those special markers? What kind of morons do you work for anyway?

this is why life sucks no matter what. annoying situations like these will always come around no matter how great the day might be.

it's their fault for not doing their job and making sure it wasn't fake, ofcourse you couldve checked it yourself but it's still managers responsibilty.

FYL indeed. You should tell them they all yelled at you, but you don't want to piss them off further. Really they should train you to figure it out for yourself, it's not like they've got magic eyes or anything.

why didn't you just check it? it's pretty easy. you just have to make sure it has the watermark by holding it up to the light..........

I have seen counterfeit bills with the water Mark.common practice to have that on there

Well you could've just checked it on your own but I guess in the heat of the moment, it's.......possible....? Still, if it says that a manager is ABSOLUTELY required, then at least ONE of them should be available to help with this. Either that or take away the stupid manager rule. They're the ones who wouldn't do their job so if something does happen to you for this, you can't be penalized.
