Today, I was working as the shift manager at my job at a fast food restaurant. Our company policy states that all employees must be clean shaven before coming to work. I had to inform one of the employees, Kris, that they had to shave before clocking in. Kris is a woman. FML

oh wow im a dumbass I didnt see yeah that definatly sucks for you but you can still say the big boys upstairs said to shave you hairy little girl

#9, would you want to have to tell a woman as beastly as to have serious facial hair about it? I think not. YLIF.

For all the feckless idiots who think the boss should have done it himself: How high up the chain of command should this sort of thing be shoved? And what exactly do you think the shift manager should have to do if dealing with employee hygiene and grooming issues isn't on their list of responsibilities? To the OP: yep, FYL. That blows.

I would have asked my boss to show me how to handle this kind of situation so that I could deal with it next time.

Well, equality rocks! She can't escape the rules just because she's a woman, can she? :)

That's what you get for working fast food. Get an education, and get a real job.

seriously just cause they work in fast food doesn't mean they don't have any education. op might be in college getting their degree and the job is what helps get money for college?

Does she have a mustache? Women having mustaches and male hair is often part of a hormonal disorder like PCOS.

I'm a woman, I've dark facial hair of the mustache/unibrow/beard kind over a morbidly pale skin. Very visible (and no I'm not called Kris and I don't work in a fast food). If I have any occasion not to wax it, by staying at home and not seeing a soul, I'll not remove it. Waxing it, no matter the amount of scrubbing and the amount of lotions/soap/disinfectant I use, gets me covered in pimples (and that hurts and is about as gross). By the time the pimples start going away, I'm the yeti again :) I'm currently looking for a bleach brand that doesn't burn me. If I ever get enough money, I'll be lasering it out of my life. Then again, I'd never apply for a sales/food services job, because of it. FYL, FHL, and F your boss.

I hope to never see #91 in a dark alley.

I expect to see Kris posting her FML on this site any day soon.
