@ #29 wtf?
It sucks that the mother was such a bitch to you, since you simply made an innocent mistake. That said, image how frustrated and fed up with the mother must be: children with any sort of physical abnormality get all sorts of rude stares and comments from passersby. For all we know, your seemingly innocuous comment could have been the proverbial "straw that broke the camel's back." Still an inappropriate, bitchy thing of her to do, however. Definitely not your fault. @13 & 20: yes, strabismus is often treatable. However, you're not privy to the girl's medical information or the family's financial situation. It's not your call to blame the mother for "not treating her kid."
that mom sucks!
Insensitivity ftw
the mother should have said something before you even started taking pictures. definitely not your fault, i don't see how people believe "you deserved it"
Or she could of been normal. and you decide to take the picture of her cross eyed anyways, and then her mom yells at you for letting her make funny faces. You'll always be the one blamed.
I don't really think YDI considering you didn't know and you were just trying to get a good picture. FYL, instead.

The mom could've explained..
well its not really your fault, the mom didnt tell you, who isnt gonna naturally assume that a little kid is making faces when they cross their eyes?
