Today, I went into labor and got my husband drive me to the hospital. Instead of staying by my side, he rushed back home for a World of Warcraft raid. His excuse? His friends were counting on him and they'd be pissed if he let them down. FML

You can always have another kid. But that WoW raid will never happen again.

Srsly?!? I cannot believe people are even trying to #Logic this. It's a human being that you made, being born after 9 months. VS. A video game where there will always be another somethin'. It's designed to be endless to keep you playing. There's no discussion, he's an asshole! Hope the birth went well OP, all things considered.

Hope you can move your mom in or something to help you with newborn. As your man child he would be sleeping on the couch indefinitely until his priorities are adjusted

I'd say dump his sorry ass but that may be difficult seeing you now have a child

He needs to pull his head out of his ass

I used to play wow and have played games for a long time. I haven't been so hardcore as I used to be as of late, but I can definitely see where he's coming from. Those of you who haven't actually done hardcore gaming have no idea the pressure this man is under. I see all these "I play wow" or "I'm a guild leader" and "that's crazy", but this isn't just casual video gaming, you have to think of it more as a job (in his eyes). Hardcore guilds (like the top 10 in the world guilds) that are for progression will raid every night for hours on a strict schedule. People who miss days are exiled. Now, what he did wrong, was not letting them know that his wife is around a due date and that his attendance is tentative and to have someone to replace him on standby. Obviously in the end you choose a child being born over a game, I'm not arguing that, but you people cannot discount the amount of pressure 24 other people have on you when you gave them your word that you would be there for them. You make some of the best friends online and those who say you don't haven't really experienced it.

chop 6 of his 10 fingers off problem solved no more gaming

Time to unplug the Xbox. Your kid comes first!
