Today, I went to a pet store to adopt a dog. I got a medium sized lab, a dog crate, and a few toys, then put his crate in the back of my truck and the dog in his crate. On the way home I realized I forgot dog bowls and some dog food. I went back, and when I got back out to my truck, my dog was gone. My stereo too. FML

I feel bad for the dogs in pet stores too but thats WHY they put them in such tiny cages. As soon as you "rescue" one they put another one in there for the next guy and you just helped fund a puppy mill.

YDI for adopting from a pet store... those dogs all come from puppy mills, and it's horrible that you chose to support one. You disgust me.

none of the dogs come from puppy mills, only the u.s petland and those guys are dicks. but otherwise all the puppys come from breeders that are routinely checked to make sure everythings O.K., so Shutup about puppy mills already.

If you put the stuff in the back of a pick-up truck, which is open, YDI. Why is everybody assuming that the dog escaped, took the crate, and the stereo? That's a ridiculous idea. Somebody went into the back of the open trunk and stole everything. And who cares where he got the dog? That's obviously not the point of this FML.

All of you that think petsmart and petco SUPPORT puppy mills the you really need to shut the hell up and do your research. Stores such as these host adoptions for rescues, not only the humane society, but to privately owned rescues. How do i know this? Common sense and the education i earned from volunteering almost a year at rescues. i also realized adoption agencies and rescues retrieve and rescue dogs from animal control and accept canine which are surrendered to them. I would like to make one thing clear... RESCUES DO NOT BREED DOGS!! okay... Im done :)
