This is what I was thinking too. There are many reasons why her father might want to know, and it might not be because he's interested in you, OP. And even if it is, iinterest isn't an FML, it's when he tries it on that it is, and even then it might not be, I guess it depends on age differences and stuff, or if he doesn't take no for an answer.

Who says the dad didn't know OP? Maybe he's seen her around the school quite often and has a good idea of who she is and what she's like.

Well the dad doesn't know if she has a boyfriend and possibly doesn't even know her age. Either way even if he does know her I thinks it's a little odd if he is trying to set his own son up with her. But thats just my opinion.

Well, I can see where you're coming from with the age thing and the dad not knowing her age being kind of weird. BUT, the topic of boyfriends may or may not have come up, since if he only knew her through his kid's schooling they wouldn't be talking about that.

It's not odd at all to set up your own kid with someone you don't know..... well not for me I suppose

My parents have certainly tried with me and my siblings, and it's worked twice.
