Today, I went to go visit my beloved husband in the hospital. As I went past the nurses station, I heard them talking about the "bastard in Room 303." I went on to visit my husband in room 303. FML

I chimed in with a "Haven't you people ever heard of...closing the g*ddamn door? No! It's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality!"

I have been in the hospital before, and I remember nurses treating me like an object, not a human being. They would visit me and do something like a check up or change something in my treatment without even looking at me or anything... It did not matter that I wanted to be alone, or wanted to sleep... I had to be available for them whenever they wanted me to be. The worse part was when two or more nurses would come in and talk about their private life to each other, as if I was not in the room with them. I felt like I was not a human being but an object like a broken car. At least they did not treat me like trash, so I should be happy I guess... I can understand their job is stressful, but I can't expect patients to be nice with nurses when nurses act like this... #53: I was not even asking the nurses to be kind to me, just to treat me with a minimum of decency.

Ugh, I meant to thumb up, not thumb down.

You might want to clue him in on being just a little bit less of a bastard, unless you're planning to be there with him all day and night to make sure he gets the help he needs when he needs it. Life can be awfully rough when the nurse is an hour late with your pain meds or bedpan.

That's a violation of HIPAA, which all of them could be fired for. To talk about a patient behind their back and using identifying information like in that circumstance is against their nursing contract. Bastard or not, the nurses violated a pretty strict rule.

Thats a violation of HIPAA. No one in the health professions field should be discussing a patient using identifying information. They're pretty strict on this-if you're upset about it, I'd talk to someone, they could get in some serious trouble for their side-discussions...

anytime the word "proceed" or any form of it is in an FML, YautomaticallyDI, regardless of the content of the rest of the sentence.

Wow, 60, I've never heard anyone use "baster" as an insult before.
