Anyone who would get drunk and go home and beat their wife would beat her if they were sober given the right motivation, such as just being really pissed off. Alcohol doesn't make someone an asshole, it just helps makes it show through. There are also many of us who are responsible enough to not drink and drive, or let anyone we know has been drinking drive. I find it interesting that so many people on here just assume that everyone who drinks is just completely irresponsible. It is possible for someone to drink an alcoholic beverage without endangering anyone beyond their own liver. I've been to many parties where there was drinking but ZERO driving after the drinking started. Once you had a beer, mixed drink, or whatever you weren't allowed to leave, everyone stayed for the night. There is also such a thing as a designated driver. What some people on here seem to want it for no one to ever drink, which just isn't going to happen, the U.S. tried prohibition once and look how that ended up. Crime rates spiked and people were drinking stuff a hell of a lot more dangerous than usual. The legal limit where I am is .08 blood alcohol level, but I say use judgment because I know that one wine cooler which won't even bring most peoples level to .06, would make me a dangerous driver. Everyone is different so even if you aren't at the legal limit yet you may not be safe to drive. If that's the case don't drive. Obviously.
maybe your just allergic to the worm in the tequila ? that you swallowed.
This post made me think of Tila Tequila! (she's alergic to tequila - that's how she got her nickname)
people need to chill the **** down about drinking in high school.
#149, grow up. I'm thirteen and drink, my parents don't know but then again non of our parents do (except for whose house we do it in). stores will give anything to us if we pay. we're not like six year olds, we drink, smoke, do drugs, have sex and get knocked up. when you were thirteen i bet your friends weren't so different eh? maybe you were square but that doesnt mean your any higher than us.
Honestly, you grow up - You're 13. . .Running around having rampant sex, doing drugs, smoking and drinking aren't things that make you a "big boy or girl" - Yes, at that age the people around me were doing the same thing but that doesn't make it right. You aren't cool or more mature by doing those things - you may be socially accepted but by who?. . .The cooler kids who will be serving you pancakes at Ihop and filling up your gas by the time you're 21? I get that kids are drinking in High School, I think it's silly and I don't approve of it [I'm not old, only 23] but when a 17 year old kid tells me he's drinking I don't flinch [I work with kids]. However, 13. . .seriously?. . .There is just so much else to be doing at such a young age that I can't even imagine thinking about drinking. My advice to you is reevaluate where you're going with your life - I know you won't listen. . .And I know I'm wasting my time - And I know that if you see this you'll defend your position about how cool you are and how everyone around you is doing it but you're not as old, classy and independent as you think you are.
The male liver isn't fully developed until age 18; the female liver, 21. Regardless of why you're drinking or what else you do, you're making an irresponsible decision about your body and, in consequence, your life. Do whatever you want (personally I think people stupid enough to drink at 13 deserve to be weeded out of society) but anybody that takes into consideration their health and wellbeing more so than you is "higher" intellectually. So, already I can see what's wrong with you, #259. If your -parents- let you have the occasional drink in the safety of their home at that age, that would be a different story. Because you're doing it at such a young age, and of all things, behind their backs, you are a moron. I chose not to, but my parents gave me the opportunity to drink when I was 15. Their deal was that if they taught me the right way to drink (i.e. know my limit, know what to do and what not to do while drunk, etc) it would end up safer for me. My brother's 15 now and he's got the same deal going for him. You know what? He's making smarter decisions because of it. It's people like you who think that they can do whatever they want that bother me. You think you're king of the world one day, and you're at death's door in a hospital the next because you've drunkenly done something stupid. My parents knew when I went to parties and had a few drinks, and yes I was underage. So yes, saying "none of our parents [know]" is incorrect. Stores will NOT give you anything if you pay; they always check ID (at least where I'm from) and you will not be sold alcohol if you're under 19 years of age. Sorry, that's just the way it is. NOT all teenagers drink, smoke, do drugs or have sex and get knocked up. I can tell you that when I was a teenager, I only drank (a minimal amount of times), I had sex, but I never did drugs nor did I get knocked up. I never smoked. None of that crap. Some of us have self control; I know many people who did the same as me and partook in only one or two of the list you gave, or none at all. Just because you're a wannabe "cool kid" and do all of the above doesn't make it true for the rest of us.
Do you really think having one beer at 16 is stupid???
Shoulda started with rum&coke
Damn, one of my first alcoholic drinks was coconut rum and cola.
Don't worry OP, a lot of people are intolerant when they drink alcohol, it's to be expected.

You're intolerant because you're STILL IN ******* HIGH SCHOOL. I realise many people here are not from the US, but in Florida (where OP is from), it is illegal to drink under age 21. It's illegal for a reason. To all the idiots here saying "lol kids start drinking at 13 get a life lololooloool" you need to shut your immature, clueless little mouths. I've seen more kids killed while drunk driving than I'd care to mention. I just pronounced an 18 year old dead last week because he thought he could drive drunk and get away with it. He didn't. You can vote me down all you want, but that's the damned truth.
Wow, you shouldn't have been drinking anyway.
