Today, I went to see a psychiatrist for my depression and low self esteem. While in the waiting room, I overheard a guy telling his friend how ugly I am. FML

I really do. I was teased when I was younger and many people on this app have already made horrible comments about the way I look. I've never really understood why some think it's okay to make personal attacks like that. Eh, it's life. I just understand where the OP is coming from all too well.

People who are hypercritical of others often have self-esteem problems of their own - it says more about him than you and possibly explains why he's in a psych's waiting room in the first place.

The real purpose behind FML is to write a maximum of 300 characters describing a **** my life moment, and then us (the commenters) choose whether or not to side with "YDI" or "YLS" along with making our own comments that go completely off topic, but still make for good laughs. #52, this means that the OP can actually be "pitied" or disdained.
