Today, I went to see a psychiatrist for my depression and low self esteem. While in the waiting room, I overheard a guy telling his friend how ugly I am. FML

Hmm, maybe perhaps you were eavesdropping and overheard a conversation that actually had nothing to do with you. I mean people tend to be pretty selfish, so normally they don't go out of their way to notice a complete stranger and her ugliness. I think you were just being a little self conscious and just assumed that they were talking about you.

I got teased formy looks as a child. I was a cute kid, but the bully picked on me because I am mixed race, berated me for my long dark hair and olive toned skin. Mom is Japanese, dad is of italian descent.
