As a blood donor I can tell you that some people have easier vains to tap into then others. Bad luck in an already unlucky situation. Best wishes!
It's true. I am a tough stick. My arms are too big and my veins are too deep. I have never successfully gotten a vein in my arm. I always have to get the veins in my hands.
It's always hard for them to find a vein and get blood going for me.
My veins move around a lot. A while ago i had to go to the hospital. While trying to put the IV in my hand my vein moved. Instead of taking it out and trying again. They just slid the needle (while still in my hand) around until they found my vein.
Ugh I hate that. It's called "fishing". So painful.
They often do that to a friend of mine - she has the same thing (rolling, thin veins, that is) :( She herself is a nurse and always does such things really carefully and gets really annoyed at people that are ruining her already almost invisible veins in this way
That happened to me once ,too.
same thing happened to me after 3 tries they put it in my hand.
Oooh, I'm getting chills just thinking about that. I'm absolutely terrified of needles...I pass out every time I need to get one. Definitely FYL.
You're lucky, at least you pass out and don't feel anything. I just start panicking and and struggling until a nurse has to come and hold me down.
Look on the bright side, at least they didn't blow a vein. I hope you feel better!
it's happened to me before expect instead of two it was 3 times on each hand and twice on each elbow area with a ******* blood test needle

To be honest, I'm not sure there are many people that do like needles...
As a nurse OP, we try to get it done as fast as we can. It sucks and sometimes we can't find a good vein to work with, but we aren't purposely trying to hurt you. Stay strong OP you can do it!
