Today, I woke up feeling awful, having caught the same illness my boyfriend had last night. When he was sick, I skipped my friend's baby shower to take care of him. Now that I'm sick, he goes to a friend's place, says to call if I need him, then turns his phone off. Seriously. FML

Today, I woke up feeling like shit after I had spent the whole night taking care of my sick boyfriend. He got up early, feeling great, bouncing around the house. When I finally got up I told him I didn't feel well and he yelled at me for being a bitch in the morning that slows him down. FML

Today, I was sick and had a migraine. Being sick turns me into a big baby, and I told my boyfriend I didn't want to be alone. Two hours into my shift, he texted me saying he "needs to let off some steam because he hadn't in a long time." Guess who ended up staying home alone until his drunk ass needed to be taken care of. Today, I got the flu. Feeling really sick and depressed, I called my boyfriend to get some comfort. When he didn't answer his phone, I called his house, only to hear his mother telling me, "He was so sad that you guys broke up." I didn't know. FML

I thought about that too. A couple of years back I was in hospital waiting for an operation (I was in serious pain) and my boyfriend at the time, ex now of course, wouldn't come and see me because he was hanging out with his 'friend' only to find out later he was cheating on me the whole relationship. OP I say be careful and aware, even if he isn't cheating he is showing very selfish behaviour. Good luck and feel better soon!

Hahaha, happened to my sis, ignored her husband when his kidney stones were a problem (she's a nurse n knew it wasn't life threatening). Husband drove himself to hospital, but parked outside mortuary door instead. Learned his lesson n has since paid attention to his wife. Sit tight OP, he'll the hard way but only if u don't baby him next time he's sick. Had u left him alone to attend an vital event like a shower, he'd have known how much one needs someone around when they're sick lol

Personally, when I'm sick, I want to be left alone. I look gross, I smell gross and I feel gross -- I wouldn't want someone who is supposed to be attracted to me to see me that way. I'll call you when I'm back to full-strength.

Ah, your sacrifice of the baby shower wasn't purely out of concern for your boyfriend, but with the expectation that he would return the favor in the future. This makes you a selfish bitch. After being cooped up sick in his house, I'm sure a few hours out with friends is a welcome break. Being called back to start another long sentence at home would certainly be repellent.
