As a cop, I simply have to say this officer needs to separate his personal and professional lives. Report him to his station and local Chief of Police, and make sure to mention that you WILL report the department if no severe action is taken. manufacturing evidence to give you tickets is unethical at best.
There are assholes in every profession. So how come when one cop does something stupid we assume all cops are abusing their authority. Look through old posts just in FML and you'll see hundreds of examples of abuse of authority in every single profession. As a matter of fact you'll also see hundreds of examples of commenter advising OPs to go to the POLICE with their problem. Double standard much? I don't think the problem is that cops are assholes - it's that we or someone we are close to has done something we could potentially get arrested for and instead of taking responsibility for ourselves we blame the police. The reality is that cops are just people trying to do a shitty job and if WE were't such assholes we'd have nothing to worry about.
