Today, I woke up to the sound of sirens. My ex-girlfriend, who I had broken up with the day before, had set my car on fire. I had just finished restoring it. I was going to insure it today. FML

You deserved it 6 500

jd7546 tells us more.

I had just started restoring it when I got it, and nobody would insure it when I got it. it looked like a junkyard heap of shit, I just got it back the day before I broke up with her. still have the burnt up shell in my drive way that I have to dispose of :(

damn, be glad that crazy woman is out of your life.

...the problem with that is, well...she really isn't. apparently, she's capable of doing much more, simply because she's alive. i'm not advocating murder here, but that *is* an apparent fact. |the kid|

It shouldn't matter if you had insurance or not. It's one thing if you had a car accident or some sort of accidental damage to the car. But this was ARSON and if you press charges and win she should have to pay for the amount of damage she caused.

I feel for you, the car I'm restoring is almost like a kid to me - it would never occur to me to do something like that. If you can prove it, then get her arrested or sue.

What I'm wondering is...what did you do to deserve it, I mean either you deserve it cause you screwed her over, or you deserve it cause you dated a psychopathic pyromaniac. Now which one is it?

Slap her in the face. Good luck with the insurance

actually, why did she stop at burning his car up? why didn't she just blow up the house and murder his family? all fair in love, right? i mean, he broke up with her. who does that these days? how DARE he? he probably broke up with her *because* she is a psycho bitch. no one with a stable mind does this kinda shit. there is no "ydi" for this, and anyone who believes so, i want to personally kill. RAGE! |the kid|

Exactly this. There's no law against breaking up with someone, or - God forbid - cheating on your girlfriend, but there are LOTS of laws against that girlfriend burning stuff down, vandalising property, nailing his cat to the front door, killing his family or axe-murdering him etc. There are a lot of YDI or 'hellz yeh, I'd be doin this on yo cheatin ass' comments on this thread, which I find horrifying. What is wrong with people?!

She was trying to warm it up for you..? Or if you live in a cold climate, melt the snow off? ;)
