What's with all the hating comments? Seriously, it just seems to me like she was joking. Perhaps she was serious about not wanting it to be a date (how awful!! A girl doesn't want to date you! FYL), but if she's even agreeing to spend time with you outside of work, she proabably doesn't hate you. Why isn't there a "Who gives a crap?" option? Oh no! Agreed, sounds like a joke to me. If she didn't like the guy at all, she wouldn't have agreed to go. If she didn't want it to be a date as such, why would she expect the coffee to be free? I make jokes like that all the time.
