Today, in the early hours of the morning, I woke up in sleep paralysis, hallucinating the sight of children hanging from the ceiling. Now I'm scared to sleep. FML

I had them all the time when I was five. I saw a black octopus dragging itself towards my bed every night. They went away by themselves eventually, hopefully they will do the same for you.

That used to happen to me when I was four to about 7 years old. I remember I would commonly see a floating neon colored scarecrow. It was awful.

imagine also you have a stick and they turn into piñatas

Ugh I had my first experience a month ago and I was aware what was happening so I tried really hard not to imagine something scary lol. But I was frightened since, you know, I couldn't move at all.

Now I'm scared to sleep because this FML is going to give me nightmares..

I think all of us have some sort of hallucination before falling sleep or after waking up... Mine was a panther...I was parlized with fear...so I can understand OP

I know most Americans have very wrong impression on islam especially due to media however i can guarantee you there is an extent information on sleep paralysis and I promise you or anyone look up the recitations from quran and you'll not have any problems sleeping. If you do a washing of your body and say in the name of God before and then once you go to bed sleep on your right side but first say recitation which you can find online in arab and english but make sure say in arab because quranic verses are only original in that language and the angels will have to protect you until morning. Im sure many people will hate on islam but until one learns something for themselves instead of rumors their opinions are meaningless

Why did you use this FML post as an excuse to preach? Sleep paralysis has NOTHING TO DO WITH ISLAM and no one is asking for "protection by angels".

That's happened to me. But I didn't see hanging children. Lol

I had sleep paralysis whilst on a car journey. I hallucinated that my dad, who was driving, had a demon face and began to climb between the two front seats to get me. It was terrifying. But don't worry OP, just remember it's not real and it's likely to go away soon.
