Today, in the spirit of Halloween and to get back at a child who repeatedly pressed the doorbell until I showed up, I quickly opened the door and yelled "Boo!" The child ended up being carried away crying with wet pants by a mother threatening to sue. FML

Lol @ some of the newer comments, I didn't realise it was wrong to say "boo" to children on Halloween. Quit being so goddamn sensitive.

Don't worry, people with some sense left are with you.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. They both deserved it and should lighten up. No attorney in his right mind would take that case.

You should have gotten someone to film it! It would have a gotten a lot of views on Youtube!

I swear. People will try to sue for anything.

I'm on the fence in this one. The mother shouldn't have let her child be a brat like that, but if the kid was young enough to pee his pants I feel for the kid. **** the kid's life because of his mom not teaching him and being scared that badly.

Yeah, God forbid a child gets scared on Halloween. It's not like Halloween is SUPPOSED to be scary or anything. Look, I'm not American, and I generally despise commercialized holidays, so I'm clearly not the best judge here - but if you let your child go trick or treating, you should expects that surprises may occur. And I do think that if you ring a stranger's doorbell, it's on your own risk, within reasonable limits. You are on their property. That of course doesn't give you the right to do anything to someone standing at your door, but really, what's the woman gonna say in court, if she does sue? "My kid rang a stranger's doorbell on Halloween, and got scared because they said "Boo"?" I highly doubt answering your doorbell with a "boo" is against American law. I realize that Halloween is a big deal in America and that the legal system in America is very different from the legal system in Denmark, where I come from, but suing over a Halloween prank that scared a child (but was harmless in nature and didn't lead to physical injury), seems very extreme to me.

Trust us, it's quite a petty reaction in the U.S.

Ahhhh frivolous lawsuits. The great American way.

Ha! If you're gonna sue me for scary your kid while expecting candy I'm going to press charges for trespassing and disorderly conduct for public urination. Bitch on!

If this idiot does try to sue, you should counter-sue for undue stress of having to deal with a frivolous lawsuit, and ask for twice what they ask for.

That witch won't get a dime, don't worry. She's better off auctioning her broom.
