Today, it was my first day at my new job. My new boss asked me if I was single. After telling him I have been happily married for 6 years, he fired me on the spot. FML

Well, Idaho is a Right to Work state. That means, an employer can terminate you for any reason, or no reason. No fault. None taken.

Has anyone realized that if someone fires you like that with no good reason, you can sue them for wrongful termination? -_-

In some states you can be fired for no reason at all. In some states this would be a percently legitimat reason to fire someone

I am not an attorney. While it is true they can fire you with no good reason, this is obviously related to her being married. And given the nature of what went down and being fired on the spot, it should be an easy lawsuit for wrongful termination. Hopefully it's a large company with deep pockets.

Probationary period? it was her first day. Perhaps he did not want a married person for the job, due to travel. I mean we are getting only one side of the story.

that should had been an interview question

By "boss" she means "pimp". He was just looking out for her morals.
