you are the biggest idiot ever. ever. ever. just so you know, op. idiot.
I thought it was common decenty to arrive 15 minuites early at least for your first day of work...
ydi for showing up late. especially when it was your first day. that's just asking to get canned.
As somebody who also lives in London, and is at the point of crying from the sudden stops in transport at the last minute, I feel ya. HOWEVER, a bit of TfL and HOURS early to set off should have done it; you can always go to the nearest coffee shop and have breakfast!
I agree with everyone else. You probably should have been there at least 15 minutes early on your first day. Its your own fault you got fired.
If it's that good a job, couldn't possibly be hard to fill, and therefore it makes sense to fire someone who doesn't even both to show up on time. There are probably plenty of other people waiting in line for it who WILL show up on time, and when it comes to this kind of stuff, time is money. You totally deserved that. This isn't an FML moment. You made a stupid choice and you're paying for it. That's just how life works.
If you're getting paid a professional's salary, then be professional, and show up on time.
Why would you ever be late for a first day on the job? It's one thing for them to make an occasional allowance after you've proven yourself a valuable employee, it's another thing entirely for you to think you're such a wonderful commodity that you don't have to pay your dues like everyone else.
why is this fml? ur dumbass should have been on time.
