Today, like always, my parents are such tightwads that they refused to turn the heating system on, despite the ball-freezing temperatures. I was so cold, I had to resort to warming my hands up over the toaster. FML

Wow. You don't know how ******* old OP is. Maybe they're only 14-15 and obviously can't move out on their own. Maybe they're 18-19 and can't AFFORD to move out. Do you realize how many god damned people stay at home until they're in their 20s because they simply can't find a job, no matter how hard they try? Or, they have a job and they still can't afford it because the job pays too little. It happens all the time. Inconsiderate people like you annoy the **** out of me.

If the OP was too poor to afford his own independence, don't you think it'd be pretty hypocritical of him to complain about the level of heat he's being gifted by his parents? 74 - That's not necessarily a rational solution. You made it seem like that was the ONLY solution and that OP is stupid for not having done it sooner, which may not be the case at all. I also never once said there was anything right about letting/having OP warm their hands on the toaster. I don't like that idea either, but that's not what we're looking at in this thread.

In my country it has never been that cold. It is humid like hell that I resort on opening the whole refrigerator to enjoy the freezing cold from it. So be apprieciative.
