Doesn't sound too bad
I'd give money to a hot bikini gal :):)
pics or it didn't happen!
this is why we don't bring important things to the beach.
On the few occasions I have been to a hot ( as in abroad ) beach, I NEVER leave my bag unattended, and if lying to sunbathe or read ect, I have my bag as a pillow so there is no way someone could take it without my notice even if asleep. I never go to the beach alone, and dont take anything more than a book and a modest amount of money. I suggest next time you do the same OP. Just because it's Australia, and regardless of wether or not you live there, doesn't mean people won't take the opportunity to rob you even if it's never happened before. Don't offer them that opportunity.
Why would you leave your bag unattended!? Of course I'm assuming that's what happened, if you had a friend there that didn't fall asleep like a jerk then this wouldn't have happened. Sorry, but this is pretty much your fault.
Think maybe you could have kept begging until you had enough for the cheapest cover you could find. But look at it this way. You were the subject of many dinner conversations that night. :-)
#61, oh no! Free medical care! If the poor can stop dying from preventable but expensive to treat illnesses the wd is doomed!

My mother told me that she once had to walk home topless from the beach when her friend accidentally took all of her clothes.
That's a nightmare. Yikes. At least people were kind enough to give you money for the train ride home.
