Giving a man the wrong kind of coffee beans is a heavy insult to his character and ethnicity. For instance, if you make the foolish decision to get him French Vanilla, and he isn't French, then you have just slandered all over his race. It is like giving a white man a sombrero instead of a visor; it doesn't work, and the subject becomes deeply embarrassed. YDI, and you should be fired. Pay more attention to your boss' ethnicity next time.
should have pissed in his coffee when you had the chance
#40, I like Hawaiian coffee and I take it strong, light, and sweet. Or a dark South American. I wonder if I have to convert to a different ethnicity.
In America that's illegal. you can't just fire someone for bad taste in coffee..
Obviously you getting the right coffee beans was the last test in line with your incompetence at the workplace. You failed and deservedly, got fired.
Lawyer up
You actually can sue for that. And to all the trolls who say the American solution to everything is to sue, that's false and you know it. If he fired you for something unrelated to workplace incompetence, that's firing on a whim and you can sue, possibly getting your job back if all works out. However..... If you work at a Starbucks or any sort of coffee shop, if you got the wrong coffee beans that's a big deal. On that note, though, that would be irrelevant and you should have posted "Today, I lost my job. FML." Which no one would want to read, and since it happens to a lot of people, You wouldn't get sympathy. Nor would it be an anecdote.
From what I understand, different states have different employment laws and the boss doesn't always have to give a reason. If OP is in a state that requires a reason, I'm sure the boss gave a suitable one. Besides, given a task to do and doing it incorrectly IS workplace incompetence. If OP couldn't do a simple task correctly, she probably didn't do the complicated ones all that well either. Coffee beans might've been the last straw.
Well, at least he didn't bean you for it, right?
This may be hard for me to express..oh, I'll try... I bet you are feeling steamed and you might be depressed, too. Perk up! Your boss is a drip, unless there were legitimate grounds for dismissal. Filter out your negative vibes and go get yourself a better job, or at least a cup of hot java.
This was already a post. loser.

well, if your job was to bring him coffee, he cannot be blamed
