Well obviously the dog means more to you than it does to him. It's your dog and he can't just take it from you. Hopefully he doesn't try stealing it from you.

The boyfiend sounds vindictive, trying to punish OP for leaving. Hope OP keeps the dog on a very short (and supervised) leash, in case he tries to hurt her via the dog.

Your ex oviously only wants the dog to hurt you. It's like parents who fight to the end to get custody of a child they don't even want JUST to hurt their ex. Keep a close eye on your dog, hopefully he leaves you alone soon.
