Today, my boyfriend dumped me because he says I need to learn how to be happy without relying on him. I'm not a clinger, I'm just unhappy because my dad recently passed away, my best friend turned on me, and I lost out on the exchange program of my dreams. FML

Today, my boyfriend of the last 2 years, who is suicidal and heavily depressed, left me because he thinks I "deserve better". Today, my parents told me, after 30 years of marriage, that they are getting a divorce. I went to my boyfriend's apartment because I needed some comfort. While sobbing to him, he decided to dump me on the spot because my reaction to the news was "immature" and he wants an "adult" relationship. FML

I'm sorry for the loss of your dad, Im sorry for the loss of your best friend (know how it feels) and I just lost out on the job of my dreams too, not the same but similar feeling. Just try again soon and hope you get it next time, surely it will come around more than once if you are not the only one who wanted it. And ditch the asshole who is you hopefully now call an ex boyfriend.

Sounds like you're going through one hell of a time! Just remember that bad times make us find out who our true friends are -- the hard way -- but more friends and new opportunities are always coming up in the future. Chin up, you're obviously a self-sufficient and smart person. You WILL be fine.
