It was really sweet of you to try and make him feel better, however, you're not a doctor and should not be giving medical advice. Don't be too sad, kidney failure is sometimes only temporary, depending on the cause. And the whole process of dialysis is really fascinating.

Whatever criticism dtp882 deserves, I think has been dealt with already. I just want to say that despite his faults might be, it is unjustified to imply that he deserves to go to juvenile hall. If one genuinely wants to teach someone else a lesson, adopting a hypocritical and intolerant attitude is absolutely ineffective and will only yield to flame wars of the type depicted above. It is therefore my opinion that moon_mistress is just as guilty as dtp882. It would seem that either she made the unwarranted judgement that dtp882 must have questionable moral values simply on the basis of his language (and thus deserves to go to juvenile hall), or she believes that using such language is in itself a crime (and thus, again, deserves to go to juvenile hall), a ridiculous notion to anyone who believes in the value of freedom of speech (attributed, probably falsely, to Voltaire: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it"). Also, if dtp882 had turned out to be, say, 35, would moon_mistress have responded in the same way? "I'm glad there are jails"? I don't think so. Just an opinion. Like it or hate it... but I hope I've given you something to think about. Please, critically examine the assumptions you are making.
