My personal opinion is that this guy is not kind and that you deserve better. If I were you, I would file him in the recycling bin. I think you should try to find one of the rare pearls these days who are not overly obsessed with peoples' weight/appearance. There are some. Hard to believe, I know, but they exist, as proven by some of the comments I read here. I think that you are probably a great person, due to the fact that you were upset by his comment (which shows you are at least sensitive, and probably caring to boot). Nobody deserves to be treated like that. Nobody deserves to be insulted by someone who "loves" them. And, yes, of course it's good to be healthy. There is nothing wrong with somebody wanting you to be healthy. There's nothing wrong with encouraging that. But there is a difference between encouraging someone to be healthy, and insulting them. If this person really cared about you and simply wanted to be healthy, he could say something encouraging in a NICE way. Perhaps, "Hey, I see you haven't been to that Tap Dance (or whatever exercise) class you like taking in a while. I think you should go, it seems to help you have more energy and feel good about yourself. You seem a lot happier when you go. What's up with that?" Or perhaps suggest active things you could do together and have fun doing. Such as, "Let's go for a hike today." NOT "Hey, you're fat." The difference is that one shows you care, and the other shows you are shallow and insensitive. There is no need for rude insults like that. Sorry for the length. But I felt you needed to hear something positive. Keep your chin up and don't let anyone insult you.
In what way did he insult her? He told her straight up that if she was as large as she is now when they first met he would not have been attracted to her. How is it that people find honesty to be insulting? Do you have a problem with the truth? Shouldn't a person tell another people whom they love and are committed to that they no longer find them attractive? Or does honesty ruffle everyone's feathers too much.
No, I don't have a problem with honesty. I have a problem with rudeness. There is almost always a respectful way to say something, and I believe that whoever has an issue with something needs to find it, especially in a relationship. This is just my opinion though. You don't have to agree with it.
hes a keeper
He's a keeper...
Dump his sorry arse.
ALL CAPS RAGE!!!!! why does every half joking comment between a couple have to become a lofty debate? If i want to discuss the nature of beauty i will pick a more adequate forum than this.
You decide whether or not you want to lose weight, but I think you've got an easy way to drop almost 200 pounds right off the bat. :/ Whether or not he's right or justified in what he said, there is definitely a better way he could've said it. Ditch the douchebag.
