A guy in my geography class once asked why the ocean doesn't boil if the sun goes down into it at night. Wtf is wrong with people?
A girl in my class once asked how big the continents were - she thought they were the size of the classroom.
I convinced one of my old **** buddies that Buddhist Monks could actually float.
When I was in high school a girl asked, " So, if people have been on the moon why hasn't anybody gone to the sun?" My teacher looked at her with a 'WTF, are you serious?' look and said, "Because the sun is far too hot, they would burn up before even landing." The girl then replied, "So why don't they just go at night?"
This one time... ...no this isn't a pissing contest Btw 14 nice irony from your username to your comment.
I have a friend who truly believes Big Foot is real. Btw, he's in his late 20s.
This girl in my class asked if water could catch on fire.
88- you have class with Adele? Cool.
I always feel like these people have a mother & father that are really brother and sister.
Oh crap, that's my generation too :(
Bravo.
I had a classmate yesterday ask how he "managed to jump off of earth" and if he just "went too far south and fell".
Sometimes people don't know the full details. But it's common sense to know jumping from the moon is bloody difficult. And really pointless.
I was going to put impossible, but I feared the Internet trolls who would try to prove me wrong. It's technically possible, but I don't care lol.
I'm always open to being proven wrong, so please tell me how it's possible. The moon is 240,000 miles from earth. How can he "jump" to earth from the moon. You need a rocket to completely escape the gravity of the moon. And once you're outside of the moon's gravitational pull, you'd still be stuck in no-mans-land where the earth isn't pulling you towards it either. So, you can't jump from the moon.
warfare32, I really hope that you are just joking ...
zingline your understanding of physics is flawed.
Even if you could manage to jump off the moon, there isn't a suit in the world that would keep you from burning up during atmospheric re-entry.
IF you could jump faster than the escape velocity of the moon (which is 2.3 km/sec), and IF you could survive re-entry into Earth's atmosphere, and IF you could slow yourself back down again, it would be possible. Unfortunately, all of these things are impossible, so it is impossible. Case closed.
I'm sorry, but the real concern here shouldn't be "is jumping from the moon impossible", it should be "how could he have gotten to the moon in the first place". Flying to the moon isn't exactly the easiest thing to do and tends to be fairly big news when it does happen. You would think they would have noticed the lack of news about such a feat.
It is possible... With the right spaceship!
My best friend asked me if the Great Wall of China was in Japan once. She said she'd like to visit it when she goes to Tokyo.
My IQ level just dropped a bit
No it didn't.
Hrrrm... Thinking about it... Your IQ just got higher, since the average score of a nation should always be 100. :)
Did you pull that number out of your ass? Or did you just feel good about it?
The collective IQ of the entire FML community dropped about 7 points when they read this
Hotshot - IQ tests are designed so that 100 is the average. So I feel pretty damned good about that number.
Op you should have just gone with it and told them he jumped from the sun. Just see how dumb these people are.
As if stupidity solely occurs in this particular generation. Retards have been and probably always will be among us. Face it.
True, though this particular generation seem to embrace stupidity and have all the social media to spread it in. Previous generations silenced the retards. Or tried to.
Yeah, that is why organized religion has lasted so long.
I am just happy they can read. Maybe someday they will try to pick up a book instead of a smartphone.
You know, some smartphones can download e-books now? So...they can actually do both at the same time now.

It seems they don't understand the gravity of the situation.
if that was the case, screw jumping back to Earth. i don't want to live on this planet anymore anyway.
