Your dad should have asked where they were calling from first. Standard procedure for telemarketers at my house. And then you hang up on them once you have ascertained that it is a telemarketer on the other end.

ive read some of the comments and i had to lol... btw it was a dinner time call and my dad was just frustrated because those guys keep calling eventhough we keep telling them to buzz off... however my gfs father was understanding and there was a quick patch up recently and the relationship is great... also we have nothing against other races because if we did then my parents would have disliked my girlfriend... but we accept her and her family accepts us... also i am not fully white, because my mom is from Thailand and my dad is from canada so... i too have felt prejudice

Your dad is an idiot. You shouldn't cuss out anyone over the phone, ESPECIALLY if it is a telemarketer. Telemarketing is a job, people make money off it. You have no excuse to cuss out your Indian girlfriend's father, if you thought it was a telemarketer. No sympathy from me, whatsoever.

I don't know how it works where OP lives, but my house hold is on a list which means telemarketers should not phone at all. Therefore i would cuss them out for not doing their job properly. I mean, getting rang constantly is like harassment!

DUDE...since you wanna stereotype, how about hearing something that might go against the grain in your perspective: I'm Indian and born/raised in Canada. I'm damn grateful for it. I've learned to use my background to my advantage rather than it be a weakness. I benefit from taking what's best from both cultures. I'm proud to be raised by my hard-working, well-educated parents who are very productive members if society. They raised me to have an open mind AS WELL AS an open heart (something cherished in Indian culture). As for my white fiancé, he holds my parents jn high regard and he is treated like family.
