Your dad should have asked where they were calling from first. Standard procedure for telemarketers at my house. And then you hang up on them once you have ascertained that it is a telemarketer on the other end.

I'm speechless, are you being serious? I would imagine the OP is referring to his girlfriend being Indian in the sense that she and her parents originate from India, whether she herself was born in India or America. I doubt he meant Indian in the Native American sense >
