Ok, i see, you are all kind of ignorants. If the girl had to get her birth control, it's because it's not the pill (the pill you take everyday, not the morning pill you take the day after). The pill you take everyday at given hour, you can take it up to 12 hours after (if you forgot), without starting the period and ******* up the system. It's not the intrauterine device, who is inserted medicaly and stays there for years. It's not the vaginal ring, who is inserted during 3 weeks (and then replaced after menstruation) It could be the patch, but as the vaginal ring, it lastes one week and then you change it. she could have changed it later. She got her birth control BECAUSE she was on a date with the boyfriend, so it's a birthcontrol you have to take "while" having sex. That only leaves you TWO options : male condom and female condom. and both these options are "safe sex".
I'm still dubious on why you ruled out the Pill. If I had forgotten to take it and was just about to leave, I would for sure run back and get it (though a little more discretely than the OP's daughter). Pregnancy scares me a little too much to think "whatever, I'll take it when I get back. it won't mess up my period." I think Pill's a good chance. And who's to say both partners aren't totally committed to each other, and checked for STIs. Then contraceptive methods that block STIs wouldn't really be necessary?
Sure, but what if she was on the pill and her scheduled time was 10 hours ago? The phrasing, "take my birth control," implies (though not with certainty) the "consumed medicine" use of the word "take," simply because the use of "take" to refer to "bring with me" is pretty archaic phrasing that I for one haven't heard from a while. And most forms of on-the-spot contraception are readily available from a drugstore, and wouldn't involve running home...and none of them would involve freaking out unless she was either on the pill, missing a dose, or if she forgot to *use* something during sex, which is much less likely. ( Also I try to pretend that condoms, at least, don't exist. Allow me my happy place :-) )
I agree about the std thingy, but the pill, you have up to 12 hours in case you forget. If she knows she has to take the pill, she knows she has that 12 hours.. Besides, having you "hour to take the pill" at the same time as you have a date, that's strange (most girls take the pill right before going to sleep or as they get up)
The more accurate you are with the birth control the better it works. So if you take it the same time everyday it's a lot more effective than just taking it once a day at almost whatever time. I'm sure his daughter wants the birth control to work as well as possible so maybe she doesn't believe she has 12 hours.
LOL
Oh come on...stop being one of those annoying parents who don't give their children any freedom. At least, compared to many many people, she's sensible enough to use birth control.
Beats hell out of hearing, "Dad, I'm pregnant by that ex-convict I've been seeing".
That is pure awesomeness. Highly awkward moment. This has to be one of the funniest FMLs ever. Dude, that could be very bad, or not so bad. On the one hand, at least she's (sort of) being safe. But, no one really wants to know that their daughter is on birth control. Still, it's better that happens than her running home screaming "I'm pregnant!" Right?
What's op, and what's the whold number thing you guy keep calling people. Likr you guys say, " o i agree with numbr 7" how does that whole thing work?
The number is the comment number. You are #50. And i'm not sure but i think OP is "original poster" (the person who wrote the FML. ...apparently people can't spell/type well enough anymore to type out complete words.
Really, if you're going to complain about something, at least make it something important. Actually, I don't understand how you can complain about "OP" but not complain about "FML." They're both well-understood terms, and even if you don't know what they mean, they're pretty easy to figure out.
How did you not know she was on the pill? My parents found out I was having sex at 16 and wouldn't let me get on any form of BC. This isn't a FML. You should be proud of her for being safe. My dad lived in a household with all women. He married my mom and raised 6 girls. I used to always complain to him about my PMS and such. Fathers need to stop being such whiny little bitches and accept that they have daughters instead of trying to ignore it when their children grow up! If I have a girl at least I know her father won't be a whiny ass like the OP either, he was raised by his mother.
She's being responsible. STFU and get over it.
Lol. If she thinks that how it works, you take pill before sex and you wont have a baby, youll soon be grandpa.. THATS your FML. Its a procedure of alterting hormones, not a magic baby-stop pill... =/ hf grandpa

WHY would she even say that around you?!
Something to keep in mind: Not all girls who take birth control are having sex. Even girls who have boyfriends and are taking BC aren't necessarily having sex. However, it's also really important for girls to take their birth control /every day/ at a specific time, otherwise it really messes up her body. For all anyone knows, she suddenly realized she hadn't taken it that day, and panicked. ... or maybe she's having sex with her boyfriend.
