Today, my dogs broke through our electric fence, one of whom managed to get his collar off. I picked it up and, without thinking, went across the fence line. I screamed like a chihuahua being run over by a bulldozer. FML

37- just go to a corner and think about what you said.

What a jerk off. If its on your hand and it hurt that bad imagine how much it hurts around te poor pups neck. If its an absolute must to have can't you just set the shock lower so it won't hurt as bad.

I know that having pets like dogs can be a challenge. The only advise I could give you OP is walk and run your dogs more. Advise from Cesar the dog whisper. Hire somebody :)

Am I the only one who thinks OP is a wimp n clearly needs something wayyyyy more powerful than the collar he has...not only did both his dogs (if not more) withstand the shock AND escape, one took off his collar. Just cut off their paws or something...make them lawn ornaments

Let's weigh the options shall we? Option 1: Have dog running loose. Consequence: dog hit by car, shot, confined in dog pound, tortured by cruel humans, injured in fights with other dogs, pain of hunger and thirst. OR option 2: Use underground fence to confine dog until he knows his boundaries as reinforced by a harmless and momentary zap. Consequence: safe, healthy dog who will never know lasting pain and confusion that dogs suffer when running loose.

You neglect to mention option 3: actually train your dog. Shock collars are cruel and unnecessary and only required by people who want to own a dog but are too stupid/lazy to train them.

or option 4: use a regular fence or tie them on a leash.

YDI for cruelty to animals. What you're doing is giving the dog a daily fml just put a regular fence in
