Today, my family and I finished moving to Texas. As if that isn't bad enough, I'll have to introduce myself all over again to everyone I meet and explain that yes, my parents really did name me Lilypad. FML

#47, my little sister made up that word as a toddler many years ago. I knew we should have trademarked it!!

Hey, I know a person named Lilypad moving to Texas. She's my daughter. It is probably just a coincidence because I know my daughter loves that name..... shit, it isn't.

Parents don't always think it through when they name their kids. While Lilypad is a charming name, it can be agonizing to the child who constantly has to explain how it was bestowed on them. That said, thank your lucky stars you don't share a name with the twins I triaged in the ER when I was a student Nurse: Malie and FeMalie. Yes, their mother was that dumb.

There's a fellow here in Canada named Dick Assman. His parents didn't even name him Richard and give him a choice.

My sister had twin patients. Their Zulu names were the equivalent of "God's Gift" and "The other one". Yes, Zulu is their home language.

just keep in mind that there is a real person named Asshole. It's pronounced ( A-sho-lei)

Texas is a great place ^_^.. although you should prepare yourself for bipolar weather.

you could just introduce yourself as lilly
