Today, my friends and I planned to go to a waterpark together. However, due to a "miscommunication," I, and only I, was given both the wrong time and the wrong meeting place. I spent three hours sitting in a parking lot in little more than my swimming suit. FML

Are you sure they're friends? I think you need some new ones.

Time to find new friends. Has that been said already? Either way congrats on lasting three hours. I know THAT'S been said already. Fyl, OP.

No chance it really was just a miscommunication? I've got a friend who is horrible at making plans. She constantly gets things confused, and if she does figure it out she often forgets to pass along the correct info to the person she previously gave the wrong info. Maybe the person you got your information from was that kind of person, that or your friends changed plans after making the original ones with you and forgot to add your name to the mass text/fb message alerting about the change of plans. Stuff like that really does happen. After all, if they didn't want you along it'd be easier to just not mention the plans to you at all. And 3 hours? You have some incredible patience.

Hello? I this day and age, people have cell phones. Three hours? Why didn't you call one of them. Sucks what happened but YDI.

Not everyone owns a cell phone. Maybe she can't afford it? About half of my friends don't own cell phones, including me.

Well you're in the minority because every kid from the age of 11 on up I know has a cell phone.

Cell phones are expensive. It's all well and good to be a part of Mommy's & Daddy's family plan, even if you have to pay the $15/mo. for your line. But there are a lot of people who don't have that luxury and have to choose between food or phone every month. Life sucks, but that's how it is for grown ups. *FYI, I'm sure at least one of OP's "friends" had a cell phone, but that doesn't make the argument less valid for the sake of this thread. And if OP didn't have one, it wouldn't matter if anyone else in the group did.

My limit for waiting would have been 20 mins tops.

They probably don't really like you. Maybe even sitting in another car laughing at you. FYL.

I personally would have called them before even leaving to the park. If they didn't answer after awhile it would be pretty clear what their intentions were, and with that not even go!

ever thought of calling after the first half hour?
