Hahaha We're in Canada my friend. Get over it!
I feel for you. Its been hovering around 0 F here for a couple weeks. Huge heating loads combined with christmas lights and the power goes out. It sucks. I got home a couple days ago and there was ice in the coffe pot.
take out the boxes, shelves etc, and climb in.
Yep! And make us a sammich while you're there.
My furnace went out last night and it only went down to around 17 degrees by morning. YDI for not insulating your house properly.
When you live in a frozen environment such as Northern Canada, insulation does absolutely nothing unless you have a heater.
-12C over here.
Get blankets and get in the fridge
get in your car and drive away :) I live in Alberta and it is -39 with wind chill :( I don't know what I would do if that happened to me!!
and this is why I live in southern cali. freezing my ass off at 54 degrees farenheit here : )
exactly :) same here. 55 & rainy and this is my idea of freezing cold.
@52: dang. you'd sure hate texas.
Last time I was in Texas I was on a cross country road trip, when I was 8. I was coming out of somewhere in AZ where it had been 117 at around 1am. Texas was cooler than that. I liked it just fine. haha. But I'm sure if I went back now, I would die from the heat.... although It's winter, so I dont really know. How cold does it get this time of year?
@52 I completely agree with you! I live in New England but my optimal temp is 45-65. Anything over 75 is way to hot!
I strongly suggest you live in your fridge

Not at all impossible, Manon. I've been there. Three day power outage in the middle of winter. I could see my breath. The fridge, normally keeping cold in, kept the cold out during that time. I had to put stuff in my fridge to keep it from freezing.
Go buy some electric heaters and use that to heat your house. At least its a temporary solution. You can always return them as soon as your furnace is fixed as long as its within the return policy :)
