I'm not gonna lie that may be dumb since she was scared of radiation from Japan but honestly those pills could come in handy with an uncertain future ahead

while the tablets would help with the thyroid gland the gas mask would do absolutely nothing to help protect from the radiation. not much can in general exept thick walls. at least assuming it's gamma radiation. gamma radiation waves can't be blocked by any material, only weakend.
