Maybe I'm just old fashioned here but to me, regardless of your gender, cheating automatically makes you a *****. If the relationship is bad then you should get out of it rather than involving another party. If the relationship is abusive and one partner is afraid to leave then they should consider going to the police if it's physical or a psychologist if it's emotional. Easier said than done, I know, but involving another person will ALWAYS make matters worse unless you are swingers. In my opinion absolutely nothing warrants a person to cheat.

Maybe part of the FML is the gf's priorities are switched; maybe it was just that she cheated. No one should ever cheat imo; you break up if you aren't happy before sleeping with someone else. In my mind, a ***** is a sexual sociopath - someone who sleeps around with no thought of the physical and emotional consequences, and no regrets - cheating on a partner is often a stupid and much regretted mistake, made under duress, in the heat of passion, or under the influence of drugs and alcohol. I think passing the judgement of ***** is a bit unnecessary and extreme, especially seeing as we have no idea what the actual story is - thats all I've been trying to say, but all you Mother Theresa's, who have never done anything naughty, obviously don't agree with me.

Then allow me to rephrase; in my opinion, cheating automatically classifies you as society's current definition of a *****. I do not believe this is a label that should stick with you for the rest of your life, however, from the way the OP quoted his girlfriend it sounds as if she is almost proud of the fact. I believe once a person shows remorse for their actions then they should be forgiven but that doesn't mean to continue a relationship. Never did I say I hadn't made a mistake but if I were to cheat you can trust I would have the same opinions of myself.

And just as a side note, it shouldn't matter how in the moment, drunk and/or drugged you are. If you truly love your partner then they should always been in the back of your mind in these situations. It is human nature to be attracted to others but if someone does not have enough self control to avoid cheating then they shouldn't be in a relationship. There is absolutely nothing wrong with dating around and experiencing your possibilities but if you are really wanting a serious relationship then you should be able to stay committed.

You are correct, I don't know the entire situation due to the word limit on FMLs. This does not change the fact that I do not believe the OP's girlfriend's morals are quite high enough in this situation. And please keep in mind that I did state these are purely my opinions. What I gathered from the short version of the story we are given is that the girlfriend isn't displaying much remorse at the moment. And either way, unless he is the father, after the most recent events I don't believe any of this should be an issue because ideally he would no longer be a part of the relationship. As for me experiencing the situation, that will never happen. I am in fact pregnant at the moment but there is absolutely zero chance it could be anyone's except my husband's. I truly do love my husband with all my heart and soul. This being considered, I will never put myself in a situation where cheating is a possible outcome.

35 - read the FML again. Where do you get the idea of 'poor girl' and 'remorseful'? We know she cheated or else he'd be the father for sure. 'probably not the father' likely means she had more sex with others than with OP. And 'good news' (not the father) sounds anything but remorseful. She's a ***** on her way out...

Yes, yes. Everyone says that but if I didn't believe that I would NEVER be unfaithful to my husband then I wouldn't have said my vows. It's really not that hard to avoid having some form of a sexual relationship with someone other than your spouse. You, on the other hand, sound like you would be a wonderful partner. You can't assure them you won't cheat because you should never say your morals will never stoop that low. And once you do cheat it's probably their fault anyway because it wasn't a healthy enough relationship for you to be happy. Tell you what, the rest of us should be taking notes.

If the male is abusive or a cheater like you might imply, Dr. I don't think she would break the news to him quiet that way. I'm pretty sure she has other sexual partners on a regular basis and it's not a mistake, since she is thinking the baby "probably" isn't her current boyfriends. I vote ****.
