Today, my hamster went missing. I walked down the stairs into my basement, to find my hamster's head on the stairs, and its body in my cat's mouth. FML

Okay, so I'm the 1 who wrote this FML, and i would just like to inform everyone that 1.) yes, i do own a dog..3 actually, so i can complete the food chain. 2.) this is not fake...my cat decapatates animals and leaves the body parts laying around outside, 3.) I have more hamsters :) and 4.) The hamster that was killed was previously being attacked by my other hamsters, so i had to seperate him from the rest and put him in a bucket until we got a new cage. so he was in the bathroom, in a bucket with the door closed. then some dumb ass kid opened the door and took out the hamster and it got away.

Hey it's not the cats' fault. It's like if you owned a lion and a gazelle and then were all surprised when the lion attacked and ate the gazelle.

sorry for your hamster, but i unfortunately have to say you deserve it if you have a rodent as a pet and a cat living in the same house, even if you make sure the cat never gets in the same room with it. shit happens... sorry for your loss though.

Look, YDI. You just don't have a rodent and a cat living in the same house. There are certain instincts that you are never going to train out of cats, so I hope you didn't punish the killer in any way. I don't care about your loss, but I'm sorry for the poor hamster. Just take the lesson here, okay?

I agree with #36. My cats always kept their catch whole until they were ready to eat it (for those that did). I've never seen one separate the head (or any other part) except as part of eating it. My experience, anyway.

When I was in Peru, my friend's dog ate my host family's guinea pigs. now I don't feel so bad.

awe cmon, cats are great, they take care of themselves and aren't as needy as dogs. I agree that hamsters aren't good pets tho.

It's a sad story but hamsters shouldn't really be 'pets' in the first place. I mean do u really think that they enjoy sittin in a cage all day long running in a wheel and being terrorized by cats?
