Yes, you probably shouldn't have had your phone out, but the teacher should be held accountable for her clumsiness. In no way do you deserve a broken iPhone. Those things are expensive, and for some people, having a phone out doesn't distract them (or others) THAT much. I once leaned on my phone awkwardly and it went off, so it was confiscated. The teacher left it on his desk the entire day for anyone to just come and take. I finally went back into the room during a pep rally to retrieve it, because if I hadn't, it would have been there all weekend or gotten stolen. Teachers don't always have the best judgement. FYL
Well, when I was in school ( finished in 2004) my vice principal would come up to you, put out her hand and right demand the phone, cd Walkman or any other device you had ( yes, cd Walkman! I loved that thing) this was an Irish catholic school though. They gave us detention and extra weeks worth of homework for wearing socks that were not white or wearing makeup >.> oh bless the Catholics, they do try.
I would have been like hitch u dropped it and now u gotta pay for it
I'd be beyond pissed off, tell her she's gotta pay for it.
YDI. School is for learning, not being on the phone. It's okay to have your phone, but if teachers respect you enough not to be on their phone, you should respect them enough not to be on yours.
Make them pay for that. Dang I would have yelled at the teacher

Make sure she pays for that
You probably could make her pay for it. Sure you weren't supposed to be using it in class, but that deserved confiscating, not BREAKING. (Also don't they have cases and stuff that you can get so that kind of shit doesn't happen? Otter box or something?)
