Today, my house is on lockdown. I recently moved to Georgia from Rhode Island to be with my boyfriend. The state is on high alert for an ice storm. I'm stuck inside with my terrified boyfriend, who's calling it "the storm of the century". I used to walk to school in this weather. FML

That sucks for all of us from the north but to be fair, they are not used to any type of snow or ice

And in the north, 50 degrees is T-Shirt weather!

I'm in GA and it's a little bit of an over reaction but we aren't used to it.. Plus no school so I'm okay with it

don't touch the government created snow lol.....Coweta County (Peachtree City) here.....

Most of the power outages are out your way, 167, and other areas south of the city. Hope you're doing all right.

I'm from South Louisiana and whenever I went to France last year, there was a heat wave and it was in the hundreds. There is really no air condition there and the people were freaking out and dying of heat. I was in jeans and I didn't realize that they were having "extreme weather conditions" until after. I found the weather was cool and dry. Maybe we Southerners can't drive in ice, but we can put on several layers of clothes if we are cold. But if you are hot, you can only take so much clothes off...

Just smoke I've it's much better than any of that

I can't wait to read your boyfriend's FML come summer time and you're bitching about the hell on earth that is southern heatwave!

I'm from England, and we don't rely on getting snow in the south every year so we're not equipped for if the snow is really bad either. Most schools close but people usually spend the days outside in it. At the moment no snow, but we have so much rain and a lot of places in the south west have flooded...

Sounds like a regular day here in North Dakota. His man card is definitely in question though....

LOL! Welcome to the south where they can't handle the cold at all.

I feel ya. Recently moved to Georgia myself, but from New York. Work places actually shut down for a couple days over the "snow". It was hilarious! And sad.
